WEB BEGINNERS: Complete Basic Steps And Guides On How To Create A Website

Website creation remains one of the most complicating thing to venture into. That reminds me(Okoro Daniel O. representing Gurusprovince Team) of when I was a newbie, I'd search all night on how to create a website without stress and make money from it. Unfortunately, my dream didn't come through simply because I wasn't given the right information which I need to start my own website. But today we're gonna be giving you guys an Advance Basic Steps And Guides to follow in creating a website.

Hi guys! Welcome to another 360GpTech tutorial.
Today, we're gonna be teaching you guys Basic Steps And Guides On How To Create A Website.

NB: This tutorial is not only meant for Newbie but for both already made web developer and newbie, simply because knowledge doesn't have limitation.

Are we good to go? Cool!!!

Website in a short definition simply means a location (address) that is connected to the internet to provide one or more web pages or other content, usually maintained by a single person or organization and hosted on one or more computer servers,

Creating a website requires not much technique(s), as though it requires devotion and time. Website can be hosted on different platforms.

  1. A Domain name.
  2. Decided whether to go for Self Hosted Or Under-Hosted.
  3. Your Brain.

1. Get Your Domain Name

The first thing you need to do before anything else is to get yourself a domain name. This is the name you want to give to your website. For example, the domain name of the website you're reading from is "" "" is also a website. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name.
Getting a name does not get you a website or anything like that. It's just a name. It's sort of like registering a business name in the brick-and-mortar world; having that business name does not mean that you also have the shop premises to go with it. You can also get a free domain name, such as dot tk(.tk) dot ga(.ga) dot gq(.gq), dot ml(.ml). For more steps on how to get free domain, check the guide on How To Get Freenom/ Free Domain.

  1. Self Hosted
  2. Under-Hosted.

Self hosted websites platform are sites that is creating under one's licence and personal declaration of the features and attributes to implement on the site.

Choose a Web Host and Sign Up for an Account

A web host is basically a company that has many computers connected to the Internet. When you place your web pages on their computers, everyone in the world will be able to connect to it and view them. You will need to sign up for an account with a web host so that your website has a home. If getting a domain name is analogous to getting a business name in the brick-and-mortar world, getting a web hosting account is comparable to renting office or shop premises for your business.

NB: It's highly recommend you get a good hosting for your site.

After you sign up for a web hosting account, you will need to point your domain to that account on your web host. Information on how to do this can be found in the guide How to Point a Domain Name to Your Website (Or What to Do After Buying Your Domain Name)

Whoa!!! Finally, your site is online!!! So what next?

Next thing is:

Designing Your Web Pages

Although there are many considerations in web design, as a beginner, your first step is to actually get something out onto the web. The fine-tuning can come after you've figured out how to publish a basic web page. One way is to use a WYSIWYG ("What You See Is What You Get") web editor to do it. Such editors allow you to design your site visually, without having to deal with the technical details. They work just like a normal word-processor.

There are a number of free and commercial web editors available. If you use Windows, one of the best around is Microsoft Expression Web. This was a formerly commercial program that Microsoft now distributes for free, presumably because they no longer want to be in the web editor business.
It is fully-featured and very polished (as befits software that was once sold in shops) with facilities that both new and experienced webmasters find useful. You can find a guide on how to use this program from my Expression Web Tutorial.

The latter takes you through the process of designing a fully functional multi-page website that is mobile-friendly (that is, your site will work well on both desktop/laptop computers and the smaller screens of mobile devices like smartphones and tablets). Instructions on how to get the editor can also be found in that tutorial.
Other free editors around include BlueGriffon, an open source editor for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
You can install softcalculos scripts such as Wordpress, Joomla, etc.. Pending on your demand.

Yes! Wordpress is a self hosted site, but don't fall this mistake. is different from is a self hosted, while Wordpress, com isn't. Wanna learn how to get started with wordpress? Get tutorial on how to get started with WordPress here.

Under hosted website platform are platform that has been built already. Most times, it doesn't require getting a hosting plan. examples of under hosted platform are Blogger, Wapsites (eg wapka, wapkiz, wapact, etc..).

Naturally the above guide is not exhaustive (It can be re-edited any moment from now). It is a distillation of some of the essential steps in getting started with your site. You're therefore urged not to be limited with this tutorial, rather, always check any of the tutorial we releases at 360Gptech as all seems to always be web related.
